BAND IN A BOX

Dig in MUSIC, you will find that it is really a huge family. (Nobody would say it's not.)CLASSICAL MUSIC, JAZZ, BLUSE, WORLD MUSIC.......can't count with your fingers.

When I started learning piano, i took Classical sores as my main practise materials. I even thought that piano was made for Classical music. Chopin and Beethoven were my favorite composers. I spent most of time on their scores.I have to say,they are geniuses!

Till last year, I started to get to know Jazz music,especially Jazz piano, I totally fell in love with it and desired to study on it.I thought that's amazing when listening to a jazz pianist playing.But its not that easy, there are tons of genres in Jazz. So I have to mention a program which helpped me get to know Jazz better, BAND IN A BOX.

(It seems I've talked too much about things out of the topic)

BAND IN A BOX (BIAB) is a program for both composers and instrument players. It contains thousands of music style, just type in the chord symbols and choose the style you like, it would arrange and play the song for you automatically.

As a piano player,BIAB makes my practice more efficient. When I play the song, Autumn Leaves, BIAB could simulate a Jazz band for me, and I, of course, just need to take care of the piano part. The cool thing is ,when I want to learn a new style, that would be very simple with BIAB, as you know, just choose the style.

Well, I think I don't have to tell more details about using it, but i guarantee that it will be your best practising company or even a teacher ever. If you think the practice on your instrument is bored or you want to get more knowledge about music style, go get a BAND IN A BOX! That would rock your music study!!!

"BURN"

First I have to say its really a big hit, also, its really a nice song. I was totally fell in love with this song when i heard of it the first time.

The background was not that magnificent like most ballads. I guessed that the producer was trying to emphasize the vocal part, which usher really did a good job.

At the opening, special tones like wind blowing from an interstice form beats lead the whispering and the soft lead tone. Perfect opening ever! Just take me in that mood.

Taking the whole song in a box, Usher's vocal, which is the best R&B vocal ever, plays the most important role. Everytime the transformation to falsetto, he makes it so smoothly and dulcet. The producer must aim to get all people's focus on Usher's voice. (of course he does ) But i mean it's perfect, the arrangement is perfect.

A SONG FOR CHRISTMAS

It's kinda exhaust after the harmony class and one hour bus trip. But when i saw my piano as i walking in the door a strong feeling of composing came up my mind. I decided to write a song for my friends for the holiday. Without any hesitation I started to engage in the project.

First thing, absolutely, was the melody part. Should it be more energetic or soft ballad? Everything was always difficult when getting started. At last, instead of imagining I played notes on piano and feelings came up again. It said, it's gonna be a dance song!! ok, let's do it!!!

Started up the FL studio, the beautiful interface made me even more excited. Everything went really well and fast. Every moment when a finishing channel came out, I would be extremely excited.

The whole project was going smoothly. The composition, both melody and lyric, took me 1 hour and a half. Within 4 hours, the arrangement, the improtant part, finished. I couldn't wait to see the finishied product.

Recording and mixing, the most important part, which was also my weak part. However, I wished I could be a composer rather than a recording director. But I always hoped that I could be almighty. (kinda hard though) At that moment, I encountered the biggest problem, people next door were having a party which was very furious. Still, i had to do my recording anyway. Fortunately, their volume becam lower and I finished my recording as fast as i could within 1 hour.

Within 5 hours, the whole big project, I finnally made it! There was no word to describe my feeling at the moment. All i knew was its totally beyond excitement.

Whats next??? hehe, sent it to all my friends...........:)

If you ask me is it difficult to choose a different way to go, my answer is yes. BUT if you wanna know whether im happy or not, MY ANWER IS YES!!
